A compelling drama by Michael Frayn
Directed by Tom Mackan
Produced by Michelle Spanik
It's 1941 and Nazi Germany has conquered most of Europe. Weapons design and manufacturing have improved enormously, but there is one more leap to take and it's in the world of quantum physics - the realm of photons and atoms.
In occupied Denmark, near Copenhagen, the Jewish physicist, Neils Bohr and his wife, Margrethe wait out the conflict. But the enemy disturbs their recluse, and a former German colleague and friend, Werner Heisenberg comes calling. With America and Britain harbouring most of the famous Jewish scientists, could the Nazis be looking for help in their own quest for the ultimate weapon of mass destruction? Will Bohr renew his friendship with a Nazi scientist and how will this mysterious visit affect the course of the war?
