Academy students are on the road again

Once again students from the Academy of Film and Performing Arts are on the road to the United States. They have been asked to perform for the fifth time at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. They will be the only amateur act invited from out of state to perform at this 12-week event.

The students recently returned from the annual Celtic Fling in June where five students took 15 awards, plus two overall trophies and a runner-up award. As well the Performance Team performed a parody of Macbeth. The entertainment director announced at one of their shows that the students were an amazing group of performers and the festival was lucky to have such talented kids from Canada participate.

This fall the students will be performing The Bloody History of Scotland, hat will teach Celtic history in a fun and zany musical show. New this year, a number of parents will be joining in the fun.

The AFPA team will also perform at Kitchen Kettle in Pennsylvania as well as visit the well known production The Creation by the theatre company Sight and Sound. Academy students, parents and staff are all looking forward to this exciting weekend.
