Lights, Camera, Summer Students!

Another opening, another show - or rather another summer and another job!
Such is the life of a student. When we were hired this summer at PAB our goal was to make money and we did. But we also made friends and great memories to look back on.
Our first week here we jumped into the fray to help with the preparations for Streetfest. We were the lucky ones who got caught in the downpour with our President Deb Tymstra and member Andy Frame. After that we turned our sights to Downtown Dining. We helped our Executive Director, Caroline Wallace, and Information Coordinator, Heather Ableson, with the preparations for what turned out to be an amazing event.
Along with helping with membership, the What’s On Calendar, and the PAB directory, we were also given the opportunity to paint the office. We added our own flair to the building and helped to turn it into a more creative environment for those who use it.
The most memorable moment, however, was witnessing the groundbreaking ceremonies at the future home of the Performing Art Centre. The arts have been a vital part of both of our lives and in the life of the city of Burlington. We are proud to have played even a small part in making arts possible in Burlington.
We both agree that our experience here has been both rewarding and unforgettable but now the curtains are closed and it’s on to another kind of show...Lights, Camera, and back to the books!
