PAB Welcomes New Board Members

Four new members have joined the PAB Board of Directors to help direct our activities.

Co-owner and general manager of Barley Flooring in Burlington, Sharon has volunteered extensively for several organizations including the Halton Board of Education, The Salvation Army and The Hamilton Children’s Choir, where she served on the Board of Directors as Concert Manager. Recently she has served as the Volunteer Coordinator for PAB. Sharon’s life long passion for the performing arts is shared by her son, Andrew Barley who is a trained performing artist.

As Technical Supervisor at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, Joe is responsible for making sure the show goes on and comes off glitch-free. Never one to seek the spotlight, Joe’s 20-year career in the entertainment industry has taken place backstage and behind the scenes. He has taught and mentored up-and-coming technicians at Sheridan College and held seminars for students interested in rigging and lighting. As a Burlington resident, Joe has been a long-standing supporter of the local theatre here as a member of PAB’s technical committee.

Bill Leslie, along with his partner Stephen Bell, owns and operates Pepperwood Properties, which includes Pepperwood Bistro, La Costa Nuova, and 2020 Lakeside Ristorante in Burlington, Rosewood Bistro in Mississauga and Miller’s Bistro in Etobicoke. Bill has been involved in many community organizations and activities and through his business. For the past several months Bill and Stephen have co-chaired the Fundraising Committee and been leaders in coordinating PAB’s French Quarter Festival.

Serena Newman is a lawyer with Simpson Wigle LLP in the Burlington office and a registered Trademark Agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. Her practice focus is
business law and trademarks. Prior to joining Simpson Wigle, Serena spent several years at a leading Atlantic
Canada law firm in New Brunswick. Her community work included extensive involvement with the United Way of Greater Saint John and the New Brunswick Association for Community Living and she looks forward to her involvement with PAB.
