Mario Commisso - Good Music & Good Works
By Ilene Elkaim
 |
Mario Commisso’s combination of music and philanthropy is an inspiration to us all. His passion for music is inextricably melded with personal charitable causes. Mario’s love for music began 35 years ago when his father drove him and his two younger brothers more than 200 kms to Thunder Bay for music lessons. His first CD, Reflections, was understandably a tribute to his loving, selfless father. Mario’s latest compilation, Swept Away, was inspired by his wife Maria, who lives with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. The CD is a dedication to his wife as well as anyone who is affected by MS. Philanthropy comes honestly to Mario. He donates $5 from the sale of each CD to MS.

Rude Native re-opening on Brant Street
The Rude Native is re-inventing itself in a brand new location at 370 Brant Street in the
heart of downtown Burlington, formerly “Sonzi”. The restaurant is moving from its former location of Village in the Square, and now provides the same intimate atmosphere that the Oakville location offers, but benefits from the fabulous roof top terrace and an open
kitchen design. Not only will the new Rude Native offer the same exotic décor, fabulous menu and great service, but the open concept kitchen lends itself to new opportunities.
You will be sure to see cooking classes and Chef ’s Table Dinners under the tutelage of owner Brad Townsend, and returning Executive Chef, Brett Turnbull, where guests can
be a part of the action. Reservations reommended by calling 905-632-6682. For more information, visit www.rudenative.ca
